Jim Barrie is known for his figurative work and variety of other subject matters, with an expressive use of imaginative vibrant colours using oils on canvas and pigments. His work varies in technique, sometimes brush work, pallet knife or colour shapers – some pictures use all three techniques. The oil paintings are wide in variety and style, however, all his latest work is very much about complementary colours.
